The Fondo de Ahorro de Panamá Publishes its Preliminary (Unaudited) Second Quarter 2026 Results

Panama | August 14, 2026

The Fondo de Ahorro de Panamá (“FAP” or “Fund”) has published its portfolio performance report for the second quarter 2026 (“2Q2026”), available only in Spanish.

Summary:

As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, the Fund reported assets under management of B/. 3,292.5 million and preliminary net assets of B/. 3,183.3 million.

During the second quarter of 2026, global financial markets posted positive returns despite periods of volatility associated with geopolitical tensions and fluctuations in energy prices. Equities led the gains, driven primarily by the technology sector and improved expectations for corporate earnings, while global fixed income recorded more moderate returns amid elevated interest rates and divergent monetary policy stances.

Based on preliminary unaudited figures, the Fund reported a surplus before expenses of B/. 119.1 million. After deducting operating and management expenses of B/. 9.2 million, the Fund achieved a cumulative surplus of B/. 109.9 million. Together with its portfolio of short-duration assets, the Fund maintains highly liquid resources to address, in a timely manner and in accordance with its legal framework, potential requirements arising from states of emergency or an economic slowdown, thereby supporting its role as a stabilization mechanism for the country.

In parallel, the Fund manages a portfolio that includes contributions received in the form of Republic of Panama bonds and is progressing gradually and in an orderly manner toward the composition established in its 2026–2027 Strategic Asset Allocation. This process is intended to preserve capital and generate long-term value as a savings mechanism for the Panamanian State.
